Subconscious Blockages

This post was written by Kathy Catalano for her group on ISM Magic, Working with Law of Attraction. Kathy makes some valid points here and has graciously allowed me to post her thoughts here. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.  Sign up at ISM Magic and become a member of Kathy’s group to discuss your views and experiences with the Law of Attraction.

These are the thoughts that came out the other day when subconscious blockages were mentioned. I know its a bit longer than what I’d like but I hope you will read through and give me your thoughts afterwards. Thanks.

I have a 20 minute drive up the mountain to work everyday. This morning I made a concerted effort to be aware of what I was thinking about. The subject of “subconscious blockages” has been going through my mind. Is there really such a thing or is it an easy way to get out of being aware? Though I was determined to ponder these thoughts, others kept popping in. For example, “Good grief, can’t that idiot figure out how to drive?” “Sure am glad I get to follow this one up, come on, the road isn’t that bad” or “Come on, Move!” Then I would catch myself and go back to pondering the question. So I caught myself wandering off subject several times as I drove. I figured that I spent about 75% of the time working on my question and about 25% of the time off somewhere else thinking about who knows what. Actually, I felt pretty good about being able to keep my thoughts focused that long.

So here is my point. If I want to create something, but most of my time is spent in negative thought, is that a blockage or is it simply not spending enough time in positive thought?

I will use money examples because we are all marketers here and the assumption is that we are here to make money. So, if I want to make more money, I start with that thought. “I want more money”. Then knowing that I have to become the vibration before I can attract it, I move on to things like, “I am so happy with the money I have”, I love having money, It feels good to have money, I love being able to have what I want, I love that my bills are paid, I am wealthy, I love feeling wealthy, my businesses are booming, I have a huge downline and everyone is making money, things like that. I then may play one of the money games, pretending to spend the money I have on the things I want.

Now, the question is, how long do I maintain those kinds of thoughts? 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 1 minute? What do I think when I have lost my focus and start thinking about other things?

“Where are the kids, god, I have to fix dinner, I hate cooking, when is someone else going to help me, I sure hope Suzie gets away from that no good boyfriend of hers, he’s just no good for her, I sure would like to get that new car but we just don’t have the money, the bills are piling up and we cant pay them, sure wish the economy was better, those so and so’s in office sure aren’t helping us.” etc, etc.

So now I’ve spent 95% of my time thinking negatively. If you spend 95% of your time in negative thought and 5% in positive thought, guess what’s going to manifest? I can tell you it won’t be more money or any other positive things you want. It has nothing to do with blockages and everything to do with how you spend your time thinking. Then, when you have these thoughts like above, how do you FEEL? I would be willing to bet that you don’t feel like a wealthy person or even a person who is attracting wealth.

Another thing to look at is what I call the “but” of your desire.

I want that new car “but” I don’t have enough money. I want to attract more money “but” I don’t know how. I want to be wealthy “but” no one in my family has ever been wealthy. What makes me think I can be wealthy? We’ve always been poor. Too much money just makes people bad, etc, etc.

And here’s a similar thing. Lets say you spend 15 minutes a day in meditation or focus of the thing you desire, in this case, money.

Now you go on your way and don’t think about it. But what does happen is something like this. You see a beautiful, very expensive car go by and think, “that guy must be filthy rich”. You see a TV program about someone who has bought themselves and island and think, ”sure, nothing better to do with your money than waste it on something like that. Don’t you know there are starving people in the world?” You hear about taxes and think “those rich so and so’s should pay more money in taxes. They get all the loopholes and don’t pay anything because their filthy rich”.

Some people would call these thoughts blockages. I say it is simply not being aware of what you are truly thinking about at any time on any given subject. Look at the sample above. You want more money, but when you aren’t paying attention to what you are thinking about, your true feelings about money show up in your thoughts. This is what you have to become aware of. This is what has to be changed in order to attract a desire. If you spend 15 minutes a day focused on a desire and then spend the rest of the day with your “real” thoughts, you won’t attract your desire. To me, this is not a blockage but a lack of awareness. You need to become aware of what you are “really” thinking about a subject before you can manifest.

LOA On Demand-Classic Book, Classic Man

I am so excited to share with you this very special LOA On Demand.

Napoleon Hill is best known for being the author of Think And Grow Rich, perhaps the book most responsible for the current interest in the Law of Attraction. It is regarded as a classic, and is a must-read for anyone who wants to create a wealth-consciousness that will produce not only financial growth but personal growth as well. In this short video clip, Napoleon Hill himself explains some core concepts related to his book and the Law of Attraction. He deeply discusses the subject of gratitude, which is so vital to the process of attracting what you want from life.

I  have not been able to locate very many videos of Napoleon Hill, and it a great pleasure to offer this unique insight into the mind of the man many consider to be an authoritative voice on the subject of the Law of Attraction and using the mind to create a desired reality.

Without further delay, Mr. Napoleon Hill:

LOA On Demand-When Your Time Comes, Be Ready

An important aspect of the Law of Attraction that many people seem to forget is that we need to prepare ourselves to receive what we desire. When the Universe moves for our benefit and our time comes we must be ready. If we don’t prepare ourselves to accept what the Universe has to offer then that is a sign that we really don’t want it after all. We all spend time on the sidelines of life, far removed from the praise and glory, awaiting our moment to shine. It invariably will come, and we must be ready to seize it with all of our heart and soul.

Garrett Hartley stood on the sidelines one January afternoon in 2010 and waited for his name to be called, and called it was. The longed for moment arrived. Was Hartley ready?

LOA On Demand–The Power Of Intent

Few people have the ability to make people laugh like actor Jim Carrey. From  Ace Ventura: Pet Detective to Bruce Almighty, Carrey’s films have grossed millions of dollars and entertained  people worldwide. You’ve probably seen at least one, if not more, of Carrey’s films.

What you may not have seen is the clip below in which Jim Carrey talks about the power of intent. Intent is the seed of creation. Everything we create begins with an idea. When we harness the power of intent and firmly establish what it is that we wish to achieve, the Law of Attraction begins to bring us closer to our desired reality.

LOA On Demand–Focus, Focus, Focus

So much of the Law of Attraction revolves around our focus. If you only grasp one principle of the Law of Attraction, let it be this: whatever you focus on, you get. Staying focused on the results you want to produce is something that requires practice. The more you practice it the better you will get. The important thing is to begin directing your focus towards a desired objective or goal.

Today’s video is a clip from Tony Robbins. Take a look as Tony talks about harnessing the power of focus to make your visions a reality:

LOA On Demand–Attitude Makes All The Difference

(This is the first installment in a new series of articles here at Affluent Existence. Each week we’ll add some short motivational videos to get your day off to a great start. We encourage you to visit us often and begin your day with words of wisdom from these great teachers and motivators.)

As you go through life you face challenges. There is no way to avoid them. It is challenge that shapes and refines our character, so instead of cringing when challenges appear you should be grateful for the opportunity to take a huge leap forward in your personal development.

You’ll also find that your attitude makes all the difference when it comes to facing personal challenge. If you plod through life with an attitude that says I can’t win you won’t win. Being victorious and experiencing a feeling of joy associated with personal accomplishment begins and ends with your attitude.

Here’s a short video by the legendary Zig Ziglar, one of my favorite motivators and coaches. Take a look as Zig Ziglar explains how your attitude makes all the difference:

Action In The Law of Attraction

As I study more and more on the Law of Attraction, it causes me to reflect back to periods in my life when I put the Laws into action without even realizing it. There are several incidences that come to mind and these happened before I began to study and put these Laws to use.

I am a thoroughbred racehorse trainer. After acquiring a piece of land, I built a barn to house my string of racehorses along with an exercise track, automatic walker and starting gates. I had a handful of horses but dreamed of having the barn full to capacity. Before long, I had to add on to the barn to accommodate all the horses that were arriving. This part of my dream had come true but I had failed to include in my vision that I wanted good clientele along with all of the horses. Most of the people who owned the horses I was training were good people but there was one “dead beat” owner in the bunch.

I became increasingly frustrated with this person. Not only was he not paying his monthly training fees, but I was also footing the bill for the veterinarian, jockey’s fees, traveling expenses, and so forth. I allowed this frustration to consume me. It was all I thought about, all I focused on. Before I knew it, there were about a half a dozen other owners doing the same.

I had made a wish to have a barn full of horses. This wish came true. My focus became the one person who was not paying his bill and this focus brought me much more of the same over the next few years.

When you have a desire for something, make it clear what you want and what the end result will be. Being vague could cause you to get things you don’t really want. Above all, keep your focus positive. Positive thoughts will bring positive results. Be patient, and be happy!
